Confirmed Guests: The Art Show at I-CON is one of the largest SF and Fantasy themed art shows in the country, and getting larger every year! We have added more Professional and up and coming artists, more display space, as well as more live art demos, seminars, artists' panels and instruction sessions. This year we are proud to have our Artist Guest of Honor Mike Okamoto. As well other great professional artists like William O'Connor, Steve Ferris, David O Miller, Jeff Menge, Romik Safarian, Ed Coutts, Michael Apice, Mike Lilly, Buzz, Donato and our special guest Ken Kelly. We are very happy to have Chris McGrath Illustrator for the Dresden Files back with us for the second time. Chris will be giving a demo, selling his work and signing autographs. We have Mike Watt editor for Sirens of Cinema Magazine who will be writing another article about the goings on at the ICON Art Show as well as being one of our Esteemed Judges for our 5th Annual ICON Artists Awards. The last 6 covers for Sirens Magazine have been illustrated by OUR ICON ARTISTS. Some include Michael Apice, Romik Safarian, Mike Lilly and our Artist Guest of Honor Mike Okamoto. We will also be having a surprise celebrity honoring us with being the master of ceremonies at our 5th Annual ICON Artists Awards. Last year we had Kari Byron and Tory Belleci from the Myth Busters! What a great job they did entertaining us all. We have great seminars and demos from our best. Photo shoot and creating Digital Fantasy Art By Joe Corsentino What you need to understand whether you are a pro or just starting out in this Part of the illustration field. Joe will have a live photo shoot and then create a digital illustration on the computer right before your eyes. -We will have live Demos from many of our Guest Artists all weekend long! -We are also proud to present our Fifth Annual ICON Artists Awards. With a surprise celebrity guest presenting the awards at the Artists Award Party (Open to only Artists and participants of the ICON Art Show). As you the view our wonderful art show, you can cast for vote for all of our art awards. -There will be an art auction and art sale benefiting this years charity organization -There will be raffles and give a ways from our Participating Artists -We will have many organizations that help artists in the art show's: Artists Resources Center Artists get the real help here. From printing companies to web communities, you will find resources to help you in your art career. -There will be a NEW Art Show Artist's Alley associated with the ICONS Art Show. Pro Comic Illustrators and painter alike will be taking commissions on the spot from fans at low prices! Watch as your drawing or painting is done right before your eyes. Catch your favorite Comic artists here, as well as Surprise Guest Artists as well. -This year we are proud to bring back ICON 27 Art Show Kids Corner. Kids from Kindergarten to middle school may submit Fantasy, Sci Fi, or Horror art to be included in the art show for FREE. If you would like to enter please send a jpg of the art that you want in the show to artshow@iconsf.org. If your work is accepted it must be framed to be hung in the show. We are looking forward to seeing more submissions this year. -Many other surprises as well Art Show Location The art show is now located in our new wonderful space in the Pritchard Gym Small (it is anything but small), be sure to take a moment and look at some the finest SF and Fantasy themed art on the planet. Our print shop has also expanded, offering Hundreds of prints at very reasonable prices, all suitable for framing. We are also inviting this year 2000 art buyers, and art directors in the New York area. CALLING ALL ARTISTS!!! A CHANCE TO DISPLAY YOUR WORK! This year the ICON art show is expanding the space available to up and coming artists! We have Added more hanging space, and are eagerly looking for all artists interested in displaying their art work. Icon's art show draws thousands of viewers, authors, editors, and art directors. In 2008, Icon's art show will hold a special review for all art directors, art buyers and publishers, so if you want your art seen, Icon's Art Show is the place to display it! Don't miss out. We will also have our Virtual Art Show on our large screen TV in lieu of Mail in art. If you want to be in the show and can't make it this is a great way to display your work. One last excellent resource will be the first annual ICON Artists Portfolio Book published by Sienna Multi Media Publishing. Each ICON Artist will be able to have their work displayed in the book, receive multiple copies of the publication and the book will be sent to over 5000 art buyers, ad agencies, publishing, magazine and record companies in the US! All this for a small fee.
