Worm Quartet is a one-man Rochester, NY-based band that twists the nipples of melodic punk, gives electronica a massive wedgie, and drags both of them kicking and screaming into the world of twisted comedy. They have been featured repeatedly on the Dr. Demento show, with many "Funny Five" appearances, and had the most requested song of the year in 2004 with "Great Idea For A Song." as well as the most requested song of 2005 with "Inner Voice" (a collaboration with Sudden Death.) They have played live shows at clubs and conventions across the country alongside an incredibly diverse array of bands ranging from the Voodoo Glow Skulls to the great Luke Ski. They are a founding member of The FuMP - a collective of funny musicians who release free music twice a week at http://www.thefump.com, and are currently touring all over the stinkin' place to support their new CD, "Mental Notes."
The sole member of Worm Quartet, who insists on being called "Shoebox," is a 6'4" 280-lb. bemulleted maniac who children tend to stare at. He began Worm Quartet as a cartoon, which ultimately spawned an unfortunately-named solo project, which eventually morphed into an unfortunately-named three-man band, which in turn morphed back into a solo project. In addition to having one of the most psychotic new faces in comedy music, Shoebox is equally famous for his obsession with Pac-Man, having showcased this obsession on VH-1's "Totally Obsessed." Most of his other contributions to fandom have involved chickens in a way you don't want to think about. By day, he poses as a mild-mannered software engineer.
