Randall Bills
Randall N. Bills has worked as the line developer, continuity editor and art director for the Classic BattleTech (MechWarrior) universe for the last six years and previously worked as the assistant line developer for four years. The Classic BattleTech (MechWarrior) property is twenty-years old with over 80 full-length novels and more than a hundred sourcebooks published, creating a vast, sprawling enterprise comprised of tens of millions of words. In addition to writing eight novels set in this universe, he's lead the publication of over fifty sourcebooks, rulebooks, box set games, scenario packs and more.
Randall is a founding partner of InMediaRes Productions, which launched www.BattleCorps.com in August 2004: a fiction, subscription-based website dedicated to canon fiction based in the BattleTech universe. This summer the website will enter its third year of operation.
In 2006 he lead Classic BattleTech into a re-branding and re-launching with a new line of core rulebooks that take the rules and visual presentation for this perennial favorite science fiction game universe to a whole new level. Two more hard-back core rulebooks are due out this year, with a new box set - including plastic miniatures - releasing in the summer, along with several more story-related sourcebooks this year.
Randall has also written a novella and designed several games that will appear under the Adventure Boys title; a new YA series of fiction and games focused on 10 to 14 year old boys starting publication this summer.
Tara Bills is a founding member of InMediaRes Productions and has been instrumental in her positions managing IMR Customer Service, the BattleShop and Convention Support. Tara has 15 years of retail, customer service and management experience that has made her an asset to the company. Tara also schedules the moderated chats that allow the members to talk to authors, artists, and "The Powers That Be" of BattleCorps.
In 1995, Tara informed Randall that if he didn't go to the interview with (then BattleTech publisher) FASA Corporation, she would divorce him. She knew back then what he truly wanted and would not let him give up before the journey started. Since then she has been a driving force behind Randall's career.
They both live in the Pacific Northwest with their three children and a snake and when their not working, they're playing games with friends and family, listening to music, or reading. Separately; Randall likes to blow things up on the X-Box and Tara spends her alone time doing photography and scrapbooking. |
