Greg Costikyan

Greg Costikyan is founder and CEO of Manifesto Games, an online retailer of independently developed games for home computers that seeks to smash the narrow constraints of the retail channel and revolutionize the game industry by creating for games what independent film and music provide for their industries--a way for innovative and creative voices to find an audience.
He is a 30 year veteran of the game industry and has designed more than 30 commercially published board, roleplaying, computer, online, and mobile games, including 5 Origins Award winners. At this year's Game Developer's Conference, he was awarded the Maverick Award for his tireless advocacy of independent games, and he is an inductee into the Adventure Gaming Hall of Fame for a lifetime of accomplishment in the field.
Prior to founding Manifesto, he was a games researcher for Nokia, and prior to that, founder of Unplugged Games, one of the first North American mobile game startups. He has written on games, game design, and game industry business issues for publications include Wall Street Journal Interactive, the New York Times, The Escapist, and Game Developer magazine, and has consulted on game industry business issues to clients including Intel, IBM, Viacom, Sarnoff Corporation, Motorola, and France Telecom. He's also the author of four published science fiction novels. |
