Jim Groat

Jim Groat is originally from the Wastelands of Tucson Arizona, living out a Mad Max type of existence stealing gasoline and fighting off the hoards of the Humongous. Having gotten the 'juice', Jim moved 2000 miles north where he was dropped into the Politically Correct nightmare that is Madison Wisconsin, the City of the Perpetually Offended. There he exists with his wife and two children fending once again against the Hoards of Hippie Wannabees, PETA and Animal Rights activists of which he excels at tormenting.

Jim is a self taught cartoonist, Even once had a syndicated comic strip, 'Muddflatt', back in the early 80s. Back in 1983 Jim teamed up with Richard Konkle and created the comic books Equine the Uncivilized and Red Shetland. He's also had work published in numerous comics and magazines and Steve Jackson games. Active in both the Sci Fi community and Furry community, Jim is also well known for his parodies, serious disliking of overly commercialized products like Pokemon, Smurfs, Elmo and Jarjar Binks. He currently draws a on-line Comic strip "West Corner of the Park" ( www.graphxpress.com) based on the antics of the internets largest chat room. This strip celebrates its tenth year. Jim's main specialty is drawing Anthropomorphics and designing T-shirts.

When not doing various conventions, Jim's hobbies include collecting Militaria, WW2 original photographs, Firearms, Editorial Cartoon books, Redline Hot Wheels and haunting used bookstores. Jim is also a sucker for travel, good sushi and chinese food.
