I've always loved drawing and painting animals as well as fantasy subjects. I've often joked that I am a frustrated wild life artist. So I guess it was only natural that I would eventually get into producing anthro art. While I've been doing art based on Egyptian mythology almost as soon as I could hold a pencil, I came into Anthro fandom through a good friend Terrie Smith. I knew Terrie through centaur and elf art but she also a lot of this furry art and she did it so well! It took me awhile to work my way into the fandom but once I did I found it one of the most warm, accepting, intelligent and dynamic fandoms I'd ever encountered. Now, I attend a number of furry cons a year and thoroughly enjoy all the wonderful people I've met in it.
You can find my anthro art at -http://www.furnation.com, or http://www.furaffinity.net/user/hbruton/. My fantasy work can be found at; http://www.heatherbruton.com or http://hbruton.deviantart.com/. If you want to see works as I finish them or listen to me babble about trips, birds and life then you can read my LJ at: http://hbruton.livejournal.com/ Inside anthro fandom I produce a wide variety of artworks for selling at shows(including paintings, prints, bookmarks, magnets, tshirts, pins) , for commissions and for various publications. I regularly do covers for Radio Comics (Furrlough and Genus) as well as edit the comic "Anubis:Dark Desires". I've contributed to work in the Kennel Club Deck and Wish You Were Here calendar. I also do work for Sofa Wolf Press including the cover for the soon to be released novel, "Common and Precious".
I love going to cons and meeting and talking with people. I also thoroughly enjoy getting on the spot commissions at cons for sketchbooks. Along with art I have many hobbies. I'm an avid reader, birdwatcher, student of ancient history (in particular, Ancient Egypt), and traveller. I'll be attending the con soon after returning from a two week African Safari so I'll be happy to talk about that to anyone who will listen |
