The Kingdom of DragonWynde

Website: http://www.dragonwynde.org

Welcome, Good People, to the Kingdom of DragonWynde!

We are a Realm of Peace and Good Fellowship. We are a group of people who embraces the aesthetics and feelings of all things Medieval. We are not a re-enactment group, nor are we a re-creation group. We are not reliving history at all, but rather we are "bending" it a little, much like an "Alternate History", as Tolkien crafted in The Lord of the Rings. In our Realm, it is possible to be an Elf, a Dwarf, a Faerie, or even a Hobbit.

We are making our own story here in DragonWynde, and new chapters are always being written, especially when we are joined by new friends.

To further clarify, we are not a "Renaissance Faire" that only gathers for performances. We are a Kingdom that has regular gatherings where we have Medieval competitions and lessons about traditions and skills of those times.

If you are a person who loves fantasy, and always wanted to be a part of it, here is your chance! If you always wanted to fight on a field of honor, or visit a King & Queen’s Royal Court, here is your chance! What about a mysterious Ranger, or learning to be a mighty Wizard? Here is your chance! If you've wanted, or even wondered about such things, you are the sort of person we seek!

We also have LARP aspects, but unlike a LARP, our stories never end. There are tournaments to be won, Titles to be earned, and most of all, FUN to be had.

DragonWynde is a fictional Island Nation off the coast of Medieval Europe. The only difference between DragonWynde and its "contemporaries" is that here, we have fantasy creatures and magic. There is a mythology and history being written at all times. Come and be a part of it!

We hold one event per month, where we have a number of activities including, but not limited to: Boffer Weapon (foam & pvc) Tournaments, Royal Processions & Courts, feasts, bardic (musical) performances, and lessons in such areas as sewing, calligraphy, Medieval dancing, & Medieval History. We offer a wide variety of fun and education in these areas. We also have merchants that you can purchase garb (clothing) and other accessories from, and you might even be able to get Tarot Card or Runic readings.

The Kingdom of DragonWynde operates out of Central Suffolk County on Long Island, NY, mostly between Islip & Brookhaven Towns, though we occasionally go further out, such as to Eastport or further West, to Farmingdale. We are family friendly and you can find out about our discounted rates for families.

Be sure to visit www.dragonwynde.org to view the splendor that is DragonWynde!

Come with us as we...Live the Fantasy!
