Richard Hatch

As an actor, Richard Hatch has enjoyed international recognition for more than two decades. He has starred in such series as The Streets of San Francisco for which he won Germany's Bravo Award, the equivalent of an Emmy Award, and Battlestar Galactica for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. These two series continue to play throughout the world today. In addition, Richard originated the role of Philip Brent on ABC’s All My Children. Richard is currently playing the continuing character of Tom Zarek on the SciFi Channel's reimagined production of Battlestar Galactica.
Richard began his theatrical career with the Los Angeles Repertory Theater. He starred Off-Broadway in several plays and musicals including the Obie Award winning play, PS Your Cat Is Dead in Chicago. Most recently, Richard starred in the musical Pepper Street and The Name Game in Los Angeles.
In addition, Richard has starred in such movies for television as The Hatfield’s And The McCoy’s with Jack Palance, Addie And The Kings Of Hearts with Jason Robards, Last Of The Belles with Susan Sarandon, The Class Of 65, The Hustler Of Muscle Beach, and the cult classic Deadman’s Curve in which he portrayed Jan Berry of the musical group “Jan and Dean”. He has also guest starred in numerous television series including Dynasty, T.J. Hooker, MacGyver, Murder She Wrote, and Jake and the Fatman. His feature film credits include Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen with Michelle Pfeiffer, The Jungle, Prisoners of the Lost Universe, African Fever and Party Line. Furthermore, Richard starred in The Hitchhikers, an adaptation of the Eudora Welty short story, with Patty Duke, Second Chance with Arte Johnson and Renaissance in which he starred and associate produced. Most recently, Richard completed filming The Battle for Mono Lake, a documentary, which he hosted and narrated, the feature films Iron Thunder and Unseen, both genre films, The Ghost, in which he stars with Michael Madsen and Brad Dourif and The Rainmakers with Jake Busey. Richard can currently be heard on Quaker Oat Meal television commercials in addition to other voice-over work.
Richard has written a series of Battlestar Galactica hardback novels for Byron Preiss Publications. The first book, Armageddon was released in July 1997 and the first edition sold out in only three weeks. The second book Warhawk was released in September 1998, followed in May 2001 by the third book of the series, Resurrection. The epic odyssey continues with Rebellion, released in 2002, Paradise, in July 2003 and Destiny, out Spring 2004. Richard's seventh BG novel "Redemption" was released 2005. In addition he has also written Battlestar Galactica stories for Extreme Comics and Realm Press. In 1999, Richard wrote, co-directed and executive-produced a 4 minute Battlestar Galactica Trailer which not only won acclaims at science-fiction conventions but also in the worldwide press. At present, Richard's just completed filming his other pet project, a seventeen minute theatrical trailer for his new Science Fiction series, The Great War of Magellan, which he created, wrote, produced and directed for his production company MerlinQuest Entertainment Inc. In addition he just made a deal to write a trilogy of Magellan hardback novels, the first of which will be out in the spring. He is in discussions to create a series and/or video game based on the Magellan story. 2005 brought the debut of The Great War of Magellan comic book produced by Blam Comics. Richard also gave his voice to the character "Paulus" on the Battlestar Galactica prequel game for PlayStation 2 & XBox. |

March 31: Live, hour-long I-CON 25 Retrospective
Destinies airs at 11:30 PM on 90.1 FM, WUSB, Stony Brook, and can be heard online through links at www.wusb.fm.
Feb 2, 2006 - Memorial Fundraiser - A fundraiser in memorial of Johnny Madonia, the son of a long time I-CON staffer, is being held to benefit the Child Life Program at Stony Brook University Hospital which helps to ease the stay of children in the hospital via entertainment and help them adjust to returning to school after leaving the hospital.
