Apr 12, 2006 - Site Downtime - Some of you may have noticed problems with the I-CON site over the past few days. We have been having hardware issues with our server, which have now been resolved. Designed to encourage community involvement and the open sharing of ideas and information, community.iconsf.org is our new hub for everyone who is interested in Science Fiction, Fact, and Fantasy (and Gaming, Anime, and everything else you might see at I-CON - and likely a whole lot more!). We encourage you all to stop in, take a look, and speak your mind - this site was created to allow you to immerse yourself further in the things that matter to you (and us).

Patrick Thomas is the author of over 60 published short stories and more than thirteen books including the popular fantasy humor series MURPHY'S LORE, which includes six books--the brand new collection BARTENDER OF THE GODS, the novels REDEMPTION ROAD, SHADOW OF THE WOLF, and FOOLS' DAY as well as the collections TALES FROM BULFINCHE'S PUB and THROUGH THE DRINKING GLASS. There have been two limited edition spin offs HEXCRAFT: CURSE THE NIGHT (featuring the cursed magi Hex) and SOUL FOR HIRE: THREE SHOTS TO THE HEART (featuring VInce Argus, the hitman who sold his soul to the devil). He co-created the YA fantasy series THE WILDSIDHE CHRONICLES and wrote two of the first six books in the series. Patrick co-edited the HEAR THEM ROAR anthology from Spyre Books imprint of Wilder Press. A mystery novella set in the Hell of the Murphy's Lore universe is featured in the upcoming GO NOT GENTLY 3 author collection, which also includes a novella from C.J. Henderson and a World Fantasy Award winning novella from Parke Godwin.

Patrick is an editor for the science fiction/fantasy magazine FANTASTIC STORIES OF THE IMAGINATION from DNA Publishing. Some of the magazines his work has appeared in include DREAMS OF DECADENCE, PIRATE WRITINGS, CTHULHU SEX, COSMIC SF, Nth DEGREE, BLOOD MOON RISING, WEREWOLF MAGAZINE, PADWOLF PRESENTS, and FANTASTIC. His stories have sold to various anthologies including HARDBOILED CTHULHU, DARK FURIES, CLASH OF STEEL 3: DEMON, THE 2ND COMING, THE DNA HELIX, UNICORN 8, JIGSAW NATION, and TIME CAPSULE. A novella will also be out soon from the Two Backed Books imprint of Raw Dog Screaming. Patrick is penning a guest story for the BUBBA THE REDNECK WEREWOLF comic as well as 3 issues of a comic mini-series with artist Daniel Horne.

He also writes the satirical advice column DEAR CTHULHU, which is carried by 10 magazines.

Scheduled shows: March 3: Andreas Katsulas Memorial featuring press conference recorded at I-CON 21. March 10: I-CON 25 Performers Preview featuring the Brobdningagian Bards, Emerald Rose, Aerosith, and Voltaire. March 17: Live, hour-long I-CON 25 Preview Special March 24: Live I-CON 25 Mystery Guest Special March 31: Live, hour-long I-CON 25 Retrospective Destinies airs at 11:30 PM on 90.1 FM, WUSB, Stony Brook, and can be heard online through links at www.wusb.fm.

Feb 2, 2006 - Memorial Fundraiser - A fundraiser in memorial of Johnny Madonia, the son of a long time I-CON staffer, is being held to benefit the Child Life Program at Stony Brook University Hospital which helps to ease the stay of children in the hospital via entertainment and help them adjust to returning to school after leaving the hospital.
