Joining Mr. Brooks for our programming will be the winners of the World Fantasy Convention Lifetime Achievement Award, Tom Doherty, publisher of TOR/Forge and Carol Emshwiller. Also joining us are Eric Flint, David Kyle, SF historian/photographer John L. Coker III, Terry McGarry, Eric Kotani, Keith DeCandido, Terri Osborne, Joshua Bilmes, Dr. Robert Katz and many more. Please check back for more as they are confirmed.

Over the past 23 years, we have welcomed more than five hundred guests, many of them among the most illustrious names in the fields of science fiction, fantasy and horror. They value ICON for the opportunity to meet old friends, contribute their knowledge and creativity to panels and interact with the fans who have been reading and appreciating their work for many years. Others are at the beginning of their careers and welcome the chance to promote their work and learn from established writers. This mix of the old and new has always been an important part of our programming. We hope you will be entertained, enlightened and encouraged to sample a wide range of works.

Writing is hard work-come to the Author's Programming and enjoy the product of our guest's dedication and talent. They bring a wide range of interests to the readings and panels we present. You'll have a great time!

Dating back to the very first I-CON, the Authors track has presented many of the most illustrious names in the Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror genres. Authors, editors and agents have contributed their time and talent to our panels, readings and special events.

Perhaps our proudest moment was the audio-conference with Sir Arthur C. Clarke in 2001. SF Historian John L. Coker III moderated the conference and arranged a slide show of photographs taken on his visit with Sir Arthur the previous year. Hundreds of people were thrilled by this once-in- a-lifetime experience with a gracious and legendary man. We were also honored to present other electronic guests Robert Silverberg, Anne McCaffrey and Brian Herbert. For those new to I-CON, the Gallun Award is presented each year to an author who has made significant contributions for at least twenty five years. Our Moskowitz Award, in recognition of significant contributions to fandom, was presented to editor/author Scott Edelman.

Our wide variety of panel topics was made possible by our guests from all three genres. From humor to horror, our panelists bring their talents and experience to a format that encourages the audience to interact. The readings we presented gave both established and newer writers an opportunity for lively feedback. Some chose to read from a work-in-progress, others from a well known story. Hearing authors read their own work is one of the highlights of our track.

All of us who work on the Author's Track hope you will join us. And for the first time, in hopes of presenting a truly memorable 25th Anniversary convention in 2006, tell us who you would like to see at I-CON! Your requests will be carefully considered. Due to their schedules, they may not be available, but we will do our best to lure your favorites. E-mail authors@iconsf.org.
