Carisa Swenson has been a professionally published fantasy and children's book artist for the past four years after being discovered at Lunacon in 2000 by well-known art director and artist, Ed Beard Jr. This initial introduction led to working with Z-Man Games as they launched the new and improved SHADOWFIST TM card game. Her client list now includes such companies as Iron Crown Enterprises and Third World Games. She has also illustrated several children's books Scholastic Inc, and has created numerous cover illustrations for McGraw-Hill.

Carisa carries her love and appreciation of animals into her artwork, and specializes in illustrating realistic creatures as well as fantastical ones. An avid reader of mythology and symbolism, she also enjoys illustrating folk and fairy tales, and the "classic" mythological stories. She currently resides in Brooklyn with her two demanding cats, Pooka and Smudge.
