The Barony of An Dubhaigeainn
(Society for Creative Anachronism) |
| The Society for Creative Anachronism (link to www.sca.org)(SCA)
is a not-for-profit educational organization that focuses on the
study of pre-seventeenth century cultures. Although the SCA concentrated
most of its studies in Medieval and Renaissance of European in the
beginning, it has expanded its field of interest to include the cultures
of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East over the past 37 years. Through
recreation, members of the SCA learn and teach the arts, sciences,
and cultures that they have an interest in during the time periods
covered.
The Barony of An Dubhaigeainn, the Suffolk County chapter of the
SCA, will be providing demonstrations and classes on some of the
local interests throughout the weekend. Some of these include History
of the Crusades, Armored Combat, and Renaissance Mask construction,
just to name a few.
Come and bring history to life in the modern age!
