Once again, I-CON will be holding an (almost) No-Minimum Bid Charity Auction in the Dealer's Room both on Saturday and on Sunday. (The minimum bid is actually one dollar.)

The Masquerade will be judged in 3 categories this year: Comics/Anime, Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Period Costuming. We are looking forward to another great group of celebrity judges and a good time to be had by all. The Masquerade will be held off campus at the Holiday Inn, Ronkonkoma, Saturday evening from 10pm to 2am. Hope to see you there.

STARGAZING IS BACK!
Special guests this year are Jupiter, Saturn and the first quarter moon. Jupiter and Saturn can not stay the entire evening, so come early if you wish to see them.
Weather permitting, stargazing will take place on Friday and Saturday nights from 9 pm to midnight at Mt Stony Brook Observatory. A star talk on the modern and medieval night sky will be followed by observing with the University's 14" telescope. If the weather is slightly cloudy and you are not certain whether the viewing will take place, ask at one of I-CON's info desks.
The observatory is on the roof of the Earth and Space Science Building (ESS). ESS is the L-shaped building at the west end of the Academic Mall. You can see the roof-top dome from most places on campus. To get to the roof, you can take either stair nearest to the corner of the L all the way to the roof. Or you can take the elevator in the corner of the L to the top floor; then go either straight ahead or to the left and climb the stairs one fllight to the roof. Unfortunately, the observatory is not handicap-accessible.
Thanks to the Department of Physics and Astronomy for letting I-CON use the observatory.
