The Captain's Fund

“Your mission, to raise the capital required to attract a Star Trek Captain to I-CON….”

What is the Captain's Fund?

I-CON wants William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew or Scott Bakula to grace our stage. We can not do this alone! If everyone that attends I-CON, whether you are a fan, dealer, guest, game master, or volunteer; donates an average of $7.00 to the Captain’s Fund, we can get one of these actors next year. If we fail to raise the total amount needed, we will hold the money in a special account until we do have enough.

But which captain will we get? Here’s the deal. For every $5.00 that you donate to the captain’s fund, you can vote once for one of the 5 captains.

$5.00 = 1 vote
$20.00 = 4 votes
$100.00 = 20 votes
Etc.

We will keep tallies of the amount raised and the votes cast on the website and in the newsletters that we send out. Donations may be made at the time of purchasing memberships, or whenever you find the time. Simply write Captain’s Fund in the memo section of your check and the last name of the captain you are casting your votes for.

If you are sending a check with an amount only for the Captain’s Fund (not buying your membership or purchasing a fan table, etc. with the same check), please send the check to:

Anyone who donates $500 or more will have their names published in the program book under Captain’s Fund updates (unless they request otherwise.)

All donations are non-refundable. We make no guarantees that a Star Trek captain will attend our convention.

If insufficient funds have been raised in 3 years, the funds will be reallocated to the media track and other actors will be secured for our convention.
