Anime Fan Panel Rules

Rules and Terms:

I-CON's Anime Track is opening its doors to fan panel submissions! We hope that by doing so, we'll be able to get a large selection of unique panels and workshops brought together by you, the fans! Please note that the deadline for submissions has been extended!

    1. General Information

All submissions must be received by March 1, 2008 at 12:00 AM EST. Inability to follow the submission rules will result in immediate disqualification. If disqualified, an email will be sent, indicating what is wrong or missing in the form. Entrants may then resubmit their application, provided it falls within the proposed deadline.

    1. How to Apply to Host a Panel or a Workshop

      Subject:PANEL: [Title]

      WORKSHOP: [Tile]
Attachment:[Last Name]-[First Three Words of Title]

      Example

Subject: PANEL: Mythology Behind Outlaw Star

      Attachment: Starwind-Mythology Behind Outlaw.doc

    1. After You Apply

After submitting the email, you will be notified by email in 3-5 business days. If you do not receive this confirmation, please forward your request to anime@iconsf.org indicating that you did not receive a confirmation e-mail. This is a notification that the request is being processed.

    1. Adult Content

Please keep in mind that I-CON is a family oriented convention. Having adult content means that no one under 18 will be allowed admission into your panel. If there is adult content in your panel, please mark your application. Adult programming occurs from 10 PM until 2 AM on Friday and Saturday Evening. Contact the TL (animepanels@iconsf.org) if you are unsure whether your panel would qualify as having Adult Content

    1. Possible Benefits

Anyone who submits and is approved to host at least 3-5 hours worth of programming is entitled to becoming a Program Participant. Program Participants are given free admission into I-CON 27 for the entire weekend. If you intend on submitting 3-5 hours worth of programming, you may submit the forms for each panel in one email or separately. Please indicate on the form other panels previously submitted by its title.

    1. Other Important Notes
    1. Changes to a submitted application may be made at the discretion of the TL.
    1. We must know the names of the other panelists when you submit your application. We will not hold spots for "to be determined" panelists. However, adding and subtracting panelists is allowed at the discretion of the TL.
    2. Note for Workshops: Materials and supplies for a workshop must be provided by the panelists and will not be supplied by the convention.
    3. Documentation of experience can be submitted with the application.
    4. What you put in the short description is what attendees will read in the program book. Write something that will attract people to your panel! The long description is your space to try to convince the TL to accept your panel. Use the space wisely!
    5. A great title can make or break a panel. If you need help coming up with a title, write Unknown as your title in the subject and attachment and the TL will work with you on creating a good title.
    6. All panels and workshops are to last for 1 or 2 hours. Do not ask for a 2 hour time-slot if you do not need 2 hours. These time blocks are extremely limited and so can only be given to those who really need the time. For example, a workshop is more likely to receive a 2 hour block due to set up and clean up restraints.
    7. Any questions about fan panels can be submitted to the TL at animepanels@iconsf.org.
